I worked with Shirley for many years and valued her friendship and her competence. She was extremely conscientious and loyal and on the days she was off, we missed her calm and quiet strength. She wrapped us all in her warmth and imparted words of wisdom when we needed advice, whether it be work or family related. Our families were important to her too and she to them. In our personal friendship, she was a treasure and I will miss our visits forever. She always enjoyed preparing food for others and had a gift for making me feel at home in her home. Shirley loved her morning routine with her coffee, crossword puzzle and pets, was seldom without a smile, unless her bus schedule changed, loved to chat and catch-up with her friends, was steadfast in the value of showing appreciation to others and enjoyed the company of nature in all its seasons, whether it be deer grazing in her backyard in early morning, fireflies in summer or the sound of crickets in autumn. On my last visit with her we stood and looked at a fir tree that she had received from a colleague and planted 19 years before. On that day it stood 30 feet tall. She took care of that tree all these years just as she took care of all of us during her lifetime. Shirley, you will live in my heart forever. Thank you for sharing yourself with us. With love, Heather Holness
Heartfelt condolences to Betty and family.

We loved and will miss our cat mom every day.
She fed us well, filled the basement with tunnels and toys for playtime, and kept us clean and healthy.
She loved all critters, but we were her favourites and for that we are eternally grateful.
Goodnight Lucy Brown.

I made Shirley's acquaintance through Richard and Chris and only knew her very briefly in the past year. She was very gracious and it was a joy to have met her. My condolences to her family and friends, she will be missed.

Shirley and I worked together for 37 years. She was not just the book keeper/accountant, she was the office manager. We at the office were part of her "extended family". She was concerned, supportive and protective of everyone at the office. We were most fortunate to have her friendship. She will be missed so much. Richard Braiden

Shirley was a valued member of my practice. I will miss her warm heart, friendly smile, many kindnesses, and all the little things she did for me during her years at my firm and even afterwards - she made the best peanut butter chocolate chip cookies and always went out of her way to make sure we were all well cared for - truly a bright light.
God Bless Shirley,
Chris Dobson
