Obituary of James Alexander Weatherstone

James Alexander Weatherstone, 63 of London Ontario passed away suddenly at home on July 18, 2021. Beloved and proud father of Bill (Amy) of Gananoque and Papa to grandchildren Jimmy, Mary Mae and Baron. Loved deeply by his mother Dorothy Weatherstone of London. Predeceased by his father Robert Weatherstone (December 2005). He is also survived by his loving aunt Ellen (Honey) McDonagh of London. Jim is the much-loved brother of Rob (Alana) Weatherstone and Wendy Hutchin (Phil) all of London. Proud uncle of Becky Weatherstone (Grant) of London, Caitlin (Ryan) of Toronto, Shaylyn (Graham) of Haiti and London, Dana (Pat), Kelly (Mike), and Jenny (Steve) of St. Thomas and Fingal, and a number of other cousins, nieces and nephews. Cremation has taken place and a memorial service will be held at a later date. Also known as, “Jimmy,” “Jimmy D,” “Jimmy Demic,” and “JD,” Jim was the very gifted drummer for the London Ontario Punk Rock group, “The Demics.” His association and dedication to years of music landed him in the London Music Hall of fame in 2013. Jim also played with many other bands across the country and leaves a musical legacy of talent recorded on vinyl and CD’s. Jim has also previously called Toronto and Huntsville home. He was currently a self-employed contractor. Jim was quick to make friends, loved a party, was clearly a man who loved to make people laugh and smile, and he enjoyed his steak blue. He was never one for much sentiment or religiosity, but he wanted you to know that if he owes you a beer, and if you can find him in Heaven, he will gladly allow you to buy him another. He can likely be found forwarding tasteless internet jokes (check your spam folder, but don’t open these at work). Expect to find an alcoholic family dog named Sam passed out at his feet. Unlike previous times, this is not a ploy to avoid creditors or old girlfriends. He assures us that he is indeed gone. Jim will be greatly missed.
