Obituary of Kees Van Kasteren

On April 18, 2021, Kees passed away peacefully at LHSC with his family praying by his side at the age of 88. 

Loving husband to Jeanne,

Caring Pa to Dorothy (William). 

Best Opa ever to Joshua and Sarah Pol. 

Survived and predeceased by many family members and cherished friends in Canada and the Netherlands. 

Pa/Opa was an exceptional man, born in Amsterdam in 1933. 

Kees embodied what it meant to be an Amsterdammer  -  Classy, cool, smart, talented, funny and artistic. 

After arriving in Canada in 1957, Kees's talent for repairing luxury cars was quickly established at London Motor Products and resulted in the opening of Van Kasteren Auto Body. 

His artistic abilities in pencil art, Klaverjas cards, pool, ballroom dancing and recently keyboard, brought joy himself and friends.  He was always fun loving and ready for a laugh.  

Pa had a wonderful family life, with ups and downs, but he never complained.

We are grateful for your love and kindness, we will think of you often and look forward to meeting you again.

The world has lost a great man.

Due to Covid-19 restrictions cremation and a private mass have taken place.
