Obituary of Timothy Douglas Ross
It is with great sadness that we share the passing of Tim Ross at London Health Sciences Centre – University Hospital on Tuesday, November 17, 2020. Tim left us peacefully, surrounded by his loving family. Beloved husband of Kara, best girl-dad of Amber (Joey), Shannon (dog Hope), and niece-daughter Jessica. Cherished son of Larry and Lois Ross, and son in law of Greg Backwell and his wife Julia. Dear brother of Jennifer Ross. Loved brother in law of Beth, and Duke & his wife Tammy. “Number One Uncle” to Brooklynn and Jason. Great Uncle to Tasha. Tim will be sorely missed by his many Aunts, Uncles and cousins.
Tim’s 8-year battle with ALS was truly an inspiration to everyone who knew him. He was determined not to go down without a drop-the-gloves fight. Tim was so blessed to have so many amazing friends, neighbours, and family members that helped us through that last few years. Whether it was cutting grass, blowing snow, taking out the garbage, putting up Christmas lights, dinner deliveries, grocery drop offs, or even just sitting with Tim for a visit – the support was truly overwhelming!
With special thanks to Larry & Lois, Grant, Duke & Tammy, Kerry, Jamie & Kim, Sadie, Leo & Georgie, Vicky & Jeff, Terri & Tony, Rick & Kim, Chris & Trish (pretty much all of Inverness Ave). As well as Brad & Brenda, Bob & Heather, Scott, Peggy, Woodie, Paul, Bob, Billy Bob – and so many others that were there for us. We cannot thank you enough!!
A heartfelt thank you to Dr. Shoesmith and the amazing staff of the ALS Clinic at University Hospital, along with the sensational doctors, nurses and RTs in the emergency department and the ICU.
Due to covid, a celebration of life will have to wait until next spring or summer, when we can all get together and raise a toast to Tim!
