Sclater, Caroline Anne

(March 6, 1942 - Sept 21, 2020)

Peacefully, at her home in Dorchester, Ontario on Sept 21, 2020, in her 79th year.

Beloved wife of Ian. Loved mother of Kim, Craig (Karen), and Scott (Kelly). Caring Nana to Jake (Erin), Brodie (Jillian), Matt (Sarah) and Ava.

After a short battle with cancer, surrounded by her family, Caroline left this world on her terms and with dignity, thanks to the caring doctors and nurses with MAID.

Our beautiful wife/mother/nana brought so much joy to all of our lives and we were so blessed to have her as ours.

Caroline will be missed by her brother Ted (Bruna) Godwin and sister-in-law Jacqueline Godwin; sister-in-law Sheila (Garry) Punchard and brother-in-law Ron (Gaye) Sclater as well as her nieces and nephews.

Predeceased by her mother Doris Godwin, father Percy Godwin, and brother Bob Godwin.

She will be missed by her many friends and extended family including best friends Carole Ashton, Ian and Nancy Culbert, and Dino and Sue Pozzebon, as well as many other special friends who meant the world to her.

Many thanks to Vanessa Williams and the staff at LHIN; all the VON nurses especially Jessie Wong, RN and Keerstin Houlton, RN, who took such excellent care of our mother and helped us so much and with such kindness. We could not have navigated all of this without you. Special thank you to Dr. Maritza Swart at Woodstock Hospital, for all of the kindness and excellent care that you gave our mother; the palliative care team, Dr. Maria Parent and Sheena Jacob, NP; Dr. John Clifford and Dr. Joe Mai, who guided us all through this with compassion and understanding.

Our hearts are broken and our world will never be the same. We are so grateful to have had her in our lives.
