Obituary of Judith Alma Mercurio

August 15, 1946 - October 3, 2019

In loving memory of Judith “Judy” Mercurio, 73, who passed away peacefully with family by her side on October 3, 2019, at Marion Villa, London. 

She was predeceased by her beloved husband Antonio “Tony” (July 27, 1987) and by both her parents Noel and Alma Bigras. 

Loving mother to Raffaela Helen (Jimmy) from London and Suzanne (Richard) from Sudbury.  Cherished grandmother to David her Wee Mannie (Matt) from Sudbury.  Cherished sister-in-law to Victoria from Whitby. 

She will be missed by her closest friends, Sylvanna and Tony, Paolo, and Goddaughter Julianna; Wanita and Ray; as well as her good friends Mary, Marlene, Agnes, Lorna, Cynthia and Larry. 

Judy retired from her career with Canada Pension in 2006; however, remained a close friend to her fellow coworkers. 

She loved the outdoors, sightseeing and enjoyed the adventure of travel on her own or with her friend Linda.  She had a special love for animals, especially her Siamese Ronnie . 

The family would like to extend a special thank you to her close friend Glen Zavitz; for his friendship over the years and for many a country ride, that was enjoyed by both.  

 Also a special thank you to her two companions, Otilia and Maria; their support to the family, as well as their outings and conversations brought her pleasure. 

A special thank you to all the Dr’s, Nurses, PSWs and staff who took excellent care of Judy while at Marion Villa.  A very special thank you to Randa Oweis, Registered Nurse, Marion Villa, for her compassionate care and support. 

Also to Wendy McEwen, Palliative Nurse Practitioner, for all her compassionate support to the family and to the Drs, Nurses who cared for Judy at University Hospital, London.

Cremation has taken place.  A private memorial service will be held in Timmins at a later date.  Interment in Timmins Memorial Cemetery.  Donations made to the Humane Society or Heart & Stroke will be greatly appreciated.
