Just thinking of dear Mr. Hinge today. I had the pleasure of helping him as an optician for several years. He always fondly referred to me as his fashionista. I looked forward to our chats and his warm smile. He would often brag about his grand children, and express his excitement about gathering together for the Christmas holiday to celebrate with everyone. He would update me on the new partners in the lives of those in his family, and reminisce about his favourite live shows. It was a pleasure to have known him.

My dear friend of 42 years! I will miss you forever. All the wonderful adventures we shared: from traveling through the Rockies, our fabulous visits to Hawaii. Remember Manuel Antonio again, the tears we shared for the beauty of the scernery. To just hanging around the pool. To crying together. I will always treasure our friendship. Say hello to Allan when you see him in heaven and give him a big kiss and hug from me. So sad to hear that you have left us and happy that you are in a better place. I will always remember you my dear Gordo.

Oh Gord, I’m going to miss your adoring face every Tuesday. I’ve thought about you every single day since I visited you in the hospital. You’ll forever be in my thoughts and heart. Farewell my friend, until we meet again. To your wonderful daughters and friends, Gord came every Tuesday to buy meals from us. He was such a wonderful man. My thoughts and prayers are with you.

Lisa, Janet and families,
So very sorry to read of Gord’s passing. What a guy! I remember with a smile in my heart the great visits I had with him on Torrington, at the Gartshore, in hospital and on the phone. Always lots of stories and lots of laughs! I will always remember his generous spirit and the twinkle in his eye. My memorial donation will be to the Jazz Vespers program at the church, which he loved and attended as often as he could. Best to all of you-he was so very proud of you!

I worked closely with Gord for many years at London Life, and am saddened to read the news today. Gord and I shared tons of laughs as he always had a story or a memory to share everyday. He was always jovial, kind, generous and caring. He loved his girls and grandchildren to bits. You were all so lucky to have him. See you again someday, Gordo.
