"Ronnie" and I went to public school together at Talbot Street (torn down now) He was my first "love" Ha! He called me Clooney!!! After Rosemary Clooney!! Remember her? His passing reminds me to live one precious day at a time and savour all the joyful moments life has to offer! He certainly made public school joyfully memorable for me!! Thanks Ronnie for being in my life!!!

I had the pleasure of working with Ron at Banting and Strathroy Secondary School,where I was the cafeteria manager . Lunch was an important part of the day for Ron. He especially liked Caesar Salad and Ice Tea. He would come to the staff room and sit down with his lunch and share a social time with the staff members. After the 20 minutes he allotted himself for lunch he would resume his Admin role and return to his office and continue on with his day. Ron had a kind word and laugh for the Cafe Ladies

Dear Karhy.& family
So sorry for your loss of Ron. Way too young , but we have no controll over that do we?
My thoughts and prayers are with you all.
I will always remember the letters his school kids answered for my kids.and sent to my class
. I wrote that all I wanted was a a bottle of RYE and peace and quiet I tucked my letter in with the kids and just signed it Mary. I think his students probably got a kick out of it. They did a super job of answering the kids letters and mine too!! Hugs Mary

I was grieved to read of Ron's sudden passing. We both worked for the TVDSB and our paths would cross on numerous occasions. Ron was always a genuine listener, interested in both staff and students alike. He was a cheerleader for one and all. May the words of Psalm 23 bring hope and comfort to Kathy and the family during this difficult time.

Dear Kathy and family,
I am shocked and saddened to learn that Ron is no longer with us. He and I taught together at Sutton School (LPH) for 4 years. In a setting with only 4 teachers, we got to know each other pretty well. Ron's sense of humour and tell-it-like-it-is style helped make those years enjoyable. We began meeting for coffee after we both retired and I enjoyed these get-togethers to rehash the old days and exchange news about our families and his travels - to mostly historical sites, of course. I'm going to miss these meetings with him. My deepest condolences to you all.

My condolences are extended to Kathy and Ron's entire family. I had the good fortune to work with Ron at Banting, and later I was Principal at Medway while he was at SDCI. Whenever I needed to talk with someone about an issue, Ron was always my first call for two reasons: I knew Iwould get his honest opinion without any political posturing; and I knew we would both be laughing by the end of the phone call. When our Vice-Principal at Medway was battling cancer, Ron came out of retirement to fill in for him. I know returning to a VP role would have been the very last thing Ron wanted to do during his retirement, but we were colleagues and we were friends, and he did. The world is certainly a less interesting and a less happy place in Ron's absence.

Kathy and family,
Keith and I were so sad to hear of Ron’s passing. We both really enjoyed his wonderful sense of humour. He could be pretty crazy! I loved working with him at Strathroy; there was never a dull moment. I do remember attending an administrative meeting at your home in his beautiful sitting room. It was filled with a wide variety of gorgeous green plants. Pretty impressive for a historian! He was a man of many talents and I am grateful to have known him.

Ron and I would often go for breakfast and sort out the world's woes. I always appreciated his comments, insight, and finely honed sense of humor. He was going to visit with me this week and the news was a great shock.

I am so sorry and shocked at the passing of Ron. He was a valued educator with an excellent sense of humour and an equally sharp "crap detector" while serving as an administrator. He was an excellent tennis player as I discovered one afternoon.
Ron was one of those people who made a room more cheerful just by being there. He will be missed.

Dearest Kathy, Lindsay, Jeff and families,
There is now a huge chasm in our lives that can never be filled. Ron was a loyal, supportive and hilarious friend. The hundreds of good memories of all the fun, crazy times with Ron and you, Kathy, have given us many smiles and chuckles this past week, through our tears! Our favourites are the many times that we were able to set Ron off on a laughing jag that would leave him speechless with tears rolling down his cheeks! Didn't matter where or when.. when it happened, it happened
which of course would set all of us off too! It will be fond memories like these that will help us all learn new ways to navigate through this life without him. We were all better people for knowing him! xo Ann and Andy
