I was so deeply sorry and saddened to hear of David's passing. I have known him for quite a long time through various musical connections. Most recently, we served together on the board of examiners for Conservatory Canada and were involved with one of their special projects as well. It was a pleasure to see him last summer when I was at his home accompanying a student for her vocal exam. He heard a family of three of my students and though our contact was brief, it was as always, meaningful. He will be missed in many ways - in my world for his dedication, his musicality, his talent and his high code of ethics.

Dear Norma-Jean, Sheila,& Lawrence,
Please accept our heart felt condolences on the untimely loss of David Lawrence. We did not have he pleasure of meeting David. However, from his accomplishments, talents and dedication to his profession, he made a significant contribution not only in the art of music but, in his service to his community, church, and as a loving husband, son and father to his children.
We are deeply touched by the written Christian words of Norma-Jean.

Such a wonderful tribute to David, The Good Lord and Yourself,
It was a privilege to know David and his Family, always enjoyed
the few times had to visit and chat with him.

My wife is recovering from heart attack and
Angioplasty the surgeon was afraid wouldn't work.

He started out as my piano teacher, and then he became my stepfather. From teaching me not to play with pancake hands to using Oxford commas properly, he stepped into a role he wasn’t quite sure how to do, but executed it flawlessly.
From playing hours of road hockey with me, to reading over every essay, slideshow, report or paper, you stepped in to help me whenever you could.
