Charlene was a wonderful friend. I carry with me many good memories of talking, laughing, writing, painting, going to bookclub and having a cup of tea. She will be dearly missed. My heart goes out to Charlene's family - I am remembering you in my thoughts and prayers.

I am so very sad to hear that Charlene passed away. My heart is with you all. Her loving attention and care for my Mum when she was ill, then her concern and care for me when I was in London clearing out our family home was a gift that I treasure forever. Such a caring, lovely person comes along rarely, and I am honoured to have known her.

I was extremely saddened to hear of Charlene’s passing. Although I haven’t had the pleasure of seeing Charlene for a number of years, I remember distinctly how inspirational and motivating she was. I vividly remember how worried she would be about Tim when I took him on the road for basketball games. She was always worried he would hurt his hands or would be driving in bad weather with me. She would often set me straight when I started pointing with my finger and she would say (with a bright wide smile) “remember Reg, four fingers are pointing back at you”. I have great memories of quality time spent together with Tim and Charlene. Although we can’t turn the pages of time, those are days that I will treasure forever. My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family TIM during this very difficult time. Your friend Reg!

How we will miss Charlene! A most loving, devoted wife mother and neighbour - her dedication to family, friends and good causes were the stuff of greatness. We will remember her heartfelt best wishes for all the kids, and her cheerful demeanour. Charlene moved me with some of the tales of her childhood in Cape Breton. My first (and only) impression of that part of the world is contained in the image Charlene painted of her grandmother at the loom in a room overlooking the sea. That was true and unforgettable poetry.
We are always home for the family.
Love and kind thoughts,
Renee, Ted, and the rest of the family
