Obituary of Melitta Moritz

It is with great sadness that we announce that on Saturday, September 21, 2024, Melitta passed away at University Hospital, London, Ontario after a valiant battle.

Melitta is survived by her children, Rita (Ivan), Harry (Dianne) and Audrey (Wayne); by her grandchildren Kyra (Mathias), Tristan (Sophie), Billie and Shane; and by her great-grandson, Odis.  She is also survived by her brothers, Edmund (Emi) and Erwin (Gwen).  She was pre-deceased by her husband Otto and by her siblings Helmut, Theo and Adolf.

A devoted daughter, wife and mother, Melitta cherished family - immediate and extended.

She was an accomplished seamstress, gardener and cook and she readily shared her skills and interests with her family.  

Fiercely independent, determined and resourceful, Melitta was also selfless, modest and compassionate.  She will be sorely missed by all who loved and appreciated her and her wisdom and grace will stay with us always.

The family would like to express our heartfelt thanks to the doctors, nurses and health care professionals who encouraged and supported Melitta over the years.

Melitta will rest in Woodland Cemetery in London, Ontario after a private family burial.  A celebration of life will follow at a later date.
