As Al’s chief, I remember his quiet unassuming presence, which had a calming, therapeutic effect, even among his colleagues.

Lofty in stature but down to earth with everyone. Always introduced himself as Al Brown, psychiatry rather than Doctor. A master of analogies, a champion of friends, his loss is felt by many. My deepest condolences Afrida.

So very sorry to hear this sad news. I had the privilege of working with Al, "Dr. Brown" at CPRI. Al was always kind and compassionate to all, with a quick witted sense of humour and incredible knowledge. I learned a lot from Al and always enjoyed the playful banter. He will be missed! My thoughts and prayers are with his family and friends during this difficult time.

Al was a kind man. I had the honour of working with Al at CPRI. In his role as Pyschiatrist he treated everyone equally, was supportive of staff and families alike. Over the many years we worked together I came to know him as a friend. He will be missed.

I went to Westminster with Big Al. Always had a smile and the time to talk. The manager of Sam the Record Man told me he closed the store just so Al could shop. Very impressive.

Very sorry to hear this. I was fortunate to work with Dr. Brown when I came to CPRI in 2012. He was generous with his time and kind towards staff and families. Appreciated his humility and that he always introduced himself in meetings as “Al Brown, Psychiatry.” He practiced genuine family centered care, and I learned a great deal from him. My sincere condolences.
