Obituary of James McKinnon Kilpatrick

It is with great sadness the family of James “Jim” McKinnon Kilpatrick announce his passing on Friday August 23, 2024 at the age of 87. Jim was a dear father to Adrienne Fulford (Tony) and Holly Smith. Stepfather to Kelly Anthony. Predeceased by his loving wife Carmen (2021), his daughter Kathryn Bienkowski (2010), his stepson Ernie Medori (2019) and his brother Ian in Calgary (2022).  Grandfather to Michelle, Erin and Johnathon. Special Nonno to Nic and Marissa.  Also survived by his brother Larry (Avis) of London.

Jim was born in Toronto but grew up in London in Byron with his brothers. He became a professional engineer and worked at Northern Electric, later to become Nortel, manufacturing telephones. He enjoyed curling at the Highland Country Club. After retiring from Nortel he spent his time volunteering with the Computer for Schools organization to help refurbish computers to give to students. He and Carmen also enjoyed travelling, especially to Cuba and made many friends there.

Jim was a kind soul and a true gentleman. He will be greatly missed by his resident neighbours in the Lambeth neighbourhood of Glendale Crossing LTC. Thank you to all of the staff at the Villages of Glendale Crossing for their care and compassion.

Cremation has taken place. Private family interment. In memory of Jim donations to the charity of your choosing would be appreciated.
