Obituary of Steven William Mills

December 16, 1957 – June 3, 2024

It is with great sadness and a heavy heart that we announce the passing of Steven William Mills (affectionately known as ‘Papa’, ‘Millsie’ and ‘TeeMao’) on June 3, 2024 at LHSC Victoria Hospital after a variety of illnesses and a lengthy stay in the Critical Care Trauma Centre. 

Predeceased by his parents John and Audrey Mills, and a brother Douglas Mills.

Survived by his loving wife Anna-Lee (nee Ruehle) of 41 years, his daughter Lauren (Chris McNeil) and son Ryan, and grandchildren James, Jack and Hailey.  Also survived by his sisters Susan Pereira (Carlos) and Karen Perrot (David) and his brother Gerald (Jerry) Mills, along with many nieces and nephews.

Steve will also be greatly missed by many people, including his friends and ex-coworkers at the IBM London and Markham offices, his golfing buddies on the “Sunday Tour”, his beloved dog Fritz, and his human and furry friends at the Greenway off-leash dog park.

A special shout out to Ashley, the RN who was with us during his final hours, and all of the CCTC doctors, RNs, technicians and PSWs who took such great care of Steve throughout his stay there. 

Cremation has already taken place.  As per Steve’s wishes, there will be a celebration of life planned for a future date for friends and family at a local watering hole.
