With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of our beloved mother, Anita Louise Nixon, who departed this world surrounded by love and cherished memories. Anita was an incredible source of warmth, love, and unwavering dedication to her family, leaving behind a legacy that will forever endure.

Born March 11, 1940, in London, ON, Anita is survived by her four children, Christopher (friends Joanna, Jolene, and Jeff), Barbara (George), Derek (Lisa), Kendra (friend and former son-in-law Calvin), and eight grandchildren (Lauren, George, Christian, Wilson, Aric, Max, Nathaniel, and Liam). Anita is survived by her sister, Connie, with whom she shared a very special bond. Anita also leaves behind many nieces and nephews whom she loved very much. Anita is predeceased by her parents, Bernard and Constance Clark (née Hobbs), several siblings, and son, Clayton.

As a devoted mother of four children, Anita poured her heart and soul into nurturing her family. Her love knew no bounds, and her children were the center of her universe. She found immense joy in watching them grow, supporting them through every triumph and challenge, and instilling in them the values of kindness, resilience, and love.

Her role as a grandmother brought her boundless happiness and fulfillment. Anita adored her grandchildren, delighting in every moment spent with them. Whether it was sharing stories, playing games, or simply basking in their laughter, she treasured every precious moment with her beloved grandchildren.

Anita will be deeply missed by the many friends and dedicated staff at Amica Assisted Living/Retirement home. Her warm smile, kind heart, and vibrant presence brought joy to all who had the pleasure of knowing her within the community. Her absence leaves a void that will be felt by all whose lives she touched during her time there. We are indebted to the staff at Amica who ensured she enjoyed her time living there.

Outside of her family, Anita found joy in simple pleasures. She was a dedicated housewife who found fulfillment in creating a warm and welcoming home for her loved ones. Her love of playing cards and bingo brought her excitement and camaraderie, as she relished the thrill of the game alongside friends old and new. She had a passion for trivia, her mind sharp as ever as she delighted in sharing her knowledge with others. Anita also cherished a deep spiritual faith, which guided and supported her at all times; her bible was a daily source of reading.

We extend our heartfelt gratitude to the doctors, nurses, and spiritual care staff at University Hospital for their compassionate and dedicated care during our mother's final days. Their unwavering support and expertise provided comfort and solace during a difficult time, and we are forever grateful for their kindness and professionalism. 

There are so many cherished memories that will forever echo in the hearts of those who were blessed to know her. Though she may be gone from our sight, her spirit will live on in the countless lives she touched.

As per Anita's wishes, there will be no funeral service. Instead, she requests that her family and friends honour her memory by thinking of her fondly during moments of shared enjoyment, such as playing cards or bingo, or simply spending quality time together.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to the Sisters of the Precious Blood, Ronald McDonald House Charities, or the Stollery Children's Hospital Foundation in memory of Anita Nixon.

Rest in peace, Mom, your love will continue to guide us, your memories will continue to inspire us, and your spirit will forever be with us. Until we meet again.
