Obituary of Terry Wade

Known by many from playing ball and hockey as Ter-the Bear.

Born October 26, 1936. Terry was raised in Crediton. Developed his love for baseball and hockey in Exeter.  Spent lots of time in Grand Bend in the summer months. In his early 20s Terry moved to London where he got the “sales bug”. Starting in liquor sales for Park & Tilford. He then moved into insurance sales with London Life finally finding his niche at selling Auto and Property insurance in the early 70s. In 1975 he started with Westminster Mutual Insurance Company and was there until 2006. He’ll also, be forever known for the infamous “Stick Shack” and all the shenanigans that went along with that.

Dad passed peacefully with his sons Todd, Tim, John, and (his dog) Rio by his side.  Survived by his wife Margaret Wade, sons Todd, Tim, & John. Also survived by his 3 grandchildren, Chase, Samantha, and Jake. Predeceased by his brother Bob Wade - (Ida Wade ). Survived by brother John Wade (Maureen Wade) & his wonderful nieces.

He’ll be remembered for many things…jokes, pranks, love of sports, his Cleveland Indians, Cleveland Browns and the Toronto Maple Leafs. Love of dogs. Classic drives in his convertible, with his tank top and Daisy duke shorts getting as much sun as possible.  Time at the Wonderland Road South Farm and his equestrian interests and investments.

Private family gathering will take place. Huge thanks to Dr. Karen Lo and the staff at McGarrell Place nursing home. Donations can be made in memory of Dad to the new London Humaine Society Build on Dundas Street or McGarrell Nursing Home Family Council.
