Obituary of Florence Beatrice Harris

Florence Beatrice Harris passed away peacefully surrounded by her children at St. Joseph's Hospice of London, Ontario. Florence was predeceased by her devoted husband of 61 years, Jack Harris. Florence was a loving mother to Julie (Rick), David, and Lynne (Doug). She was a proud Nanny to Lauren (John), Jeanette (Bryan), and Sandra (Dalton). Florence is survived by her siblings Dolly and Ernie. She was predeceased by Louis, Jean, and Jim.

Florence and her family moved from England to Canada in 1965 and in her 92 years she was able to experience all that life in England and Canada had to offer. Florence had a lighthearted personality and her laugh was infectious. Her family has fond memories of her dancing and singing(out of tune) to any music she would hear. Florence and Jack loved their pets and would often go camping with their dogs across Canada and the US. Florence was able to spend her last days with her beloved pets which brought a huge smile to her face.

Florence was incredibly proud of her family and would tell anyone who would listen about her children and grandchildren. Her family will miss Florence, for her endless stories; her baking (jams, pies, and breads); her love of figure skating, especially Stars on Ice; and full days at the beach.

Our family remembers the support and friendship Florence received from Maria, and Hilda. We would like to thank the exemplary care that Florence has received from St. Elizabeth; the doctors, nurses, and staff at University Hospital. The family will be forever grateful for the grace, and compassion that Florence and our family received at the St. Joseph’s Hospice of London.

Cremation has taken place and the family will be honouring Florence at a private gathering. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the St. Joseph’s Hospice of London.
