Obituary of Gong Xu

With sadness at her passing but joy for her journey to heaven, we announce the passing of Gong (Yvonne) Xu on Thursday, November 9, 2023, at the age of 42. Cherished wife of Charles for almost 24 years. Loving mother of Nicholas, Oscar and Kevan. Yvonne leaves behind her caring brother Hansheng Xu, sisters Hong Xu and Dan Xu. She was predeceased by her parents Baochang Xu and Jieya zhao. After completing her Bachelor degree (2005) at Sun Yat-sen University, Yvonne delighted in her home as a full time housemaker completing many home projects.

Yvonne enjoyed life in London, Ontario with her family. She was optimistic, determined and caring. Yvonne navigated the challenges of lung cancer for a couple years. Nevertheless, she strived to stay active by jogging and swimming regularly. She was a talented chef and artist. She enjoyed outdoor gardening. With her dedicated care, her garden has flourished into a wonderful vegetable nursery with lettuce and beautiful flowers. She enjoyed walking in the neighborhood with her boys and exercising with them. Her smile was warm and tender. Her words were always encouraging and kind. Most of all, she read her Bible, shared her love for Jesus with others and strove to know God more deeply.

世，进入永恒的天国，在人间逗留了42年。她是陈闯宠爱的妻子，一

生的至爱。他们共度了24年的美好时光。她是陈天龙（Nicholas）、陈

子龙（Oscar）和陈凯龙（Kevan）慈爱的母亲。她留下了关爱她的弟

弟徐汗生，姐姐徐虹和妹妹徐丹。她的父母徐宝昌和赵结雅已故。

1999年徐功实习时和陈闯相遇、相知、相爱。她在陈闯的鼓励下，

完成了大学学业，于2005年毕业于中山大学英语专业，而后就职于广

州中石化。2005年12月14日他们喜结良缘。婚后她陪伴夫君在全国各

分公司工作出差，度过了一段只属于他们两个人的开心快乐的日子。

她在2010年与先生一起移民加拿大，三位可爱的孩子相继出世。她很

享受在安大略省伦敦市平平淡淡、简简单单、安静的家庭生活。她是

一位不可多得的贤妻良母。她乐观开朗、坚强勇敢、热爱生活。她精

通厨艺，喜爱艺术和户外园艺。她的后院种满了各种疏菜和各色鲜

花。她爱好跳舞和运动，喜欢跑步、游泳、溜旱冰和骑单车。即使在

与肺癌抗争的多年时间里，她仍保持活力，从不抱怨。她安排与先生

单独共进午餐，与孩子们一起散步和锻炼， 给他们做健康的食物，保

持生活的质素。她的微笑温暖而感人，她的言辞鼓励而友善。她热爱

生命，乐于助人，喜欢听诗歌，与人分享对耶稣的爱。
