Obituary of Chris Maslak
CHRIS MASLAK (July 16,1957 to February 02, 2023)
On February 2nd, with the gentle guidance of the MAiD team, I was released from the restraints of Idiopathic Pulmonary Fibrosis. My body will be donated to the Schulich School of Medicine at Western University.
Thank you to the London Fringe Festival for providing a creative venue, your first ever in 2000, to meet my beloved Nadine Fontaine. With her neatly tucked-in volunteer t-shirt, she caught my eye multiple times throughout the festival. Our serendipitous meeting at the Brunswick Hotel at the end of our volunteer week melded our lives forever. We have shared a life of love, achievements, and losses - for better and worse but always coming through united and stronger than before.
I have dedicated most of my life to the service of others. As a Brownie (Ember), I promised to Lend A Hand and as a Canada Cord Girl Guide, I learned to Help Other People. As a Registered Pharmacy Technician, in multiple retail settings, and retiring from Wortley Rd Pharmasave after 14 years, I strived to provide our customers with a positive experience as I dispensed medication with compassion, respect and knowledge.
Predeceased by Peter, Barb and Peter Jr. Maslak. Survived by loving sisters Susan, Louise (Ian), niece Phaedra (Marc), stepson Dylan (Samantha and Odin), goddaughter Phenyx (Kristin, Evelyn, Lyla, Frankie), and best pal Sandy (Michael), plus the strongest, most loving and wise, circle of friends/family. Celebration of Life TBA at a later date.
No flowers but please consider donating to your local shelter or food bank. Please be kind, eat more plants and fewer animals, plant a tree, check in with your elders, learn or relearn a craft and give more, expect less.
GONE HOME.
