Obituary of James Stanley Skubel
James Skubel passed away just after his 71st birthday with his loving wife Mary by his side. James, with his wife Mary, fought a courageous battle with brain cancer for over a year. He was loved dearly by his wife Mary and cherished as a father by Adam (Yuan), Rachel, and grandfather by Kira. He was born in Niagara- on- the- Lake, obtained his degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of Western Ontario, and subsequently worked at Bell Canada for 39 years. He had been married for 49 years to his wife Mary whom he adored. He had many hobbies that he shared with his family that included photography, running, woodworking, astronomy, and model airplanes. He acquired his pilot’s license, rode a motorcycle, and loved to travel with his family. He was predeceased by his father Stanley and mother Mary. He leaves behind brothers Edward (Donna), Stanley, Dan (Nancy), and sister Diane (Gerry), nieces and nephews, aunt, and cousins. Cremation has taken place. A Celebration of Life will be held at Metropolitan Church on December 8th at 10 am for family, neighbours, and friends. Please wear a mask and a boxed lunch will follow the service.
