Obituary of Duncan Bain

  Passed away early, Friday July 14th, 2017 after a long and courageous battle with lymphoma cancer. Duncan, at age 63, passed away peacefully in the Palliative Care Ward of Victoria Hospital Campus. Beloved brother of Doug (Shirley) Bain, Don - deceased (Joanne) Bain, and Rob (Lenny) Bain. Dear Uncle of Neil (Allison) Bain, Lisa Bain, Ian Bain, Christy Bain, Maggie Bain, and Jamie Bain. Beloved Uncle and Great Uncle to Angela (Derrick) St. Marseille, Darren (Fayth) Ward, Patricia Ward, and Daniel Ward, and beloved Great-Great Uncle to Ethan and Becca. Duncan will be missed very much by his family and many friends locally and globally, as well as his colleagues and clients who knew Duncan through his geological company, Duncan Bain Consulting Ltd. Duncan made a vast contribution to the mining industry internationally and around the world for 40 years. Maggie and Jamie will especially miss their Uncle Duncan. He was one of the best friends, mentors and the best nanny-geologist to them growing up. A Memorial Service will be held in London at Woodland Cemetery Chapel, 493 Springbank Drive at 11:00 a.m., on Saturday, July 29th. Following the Memorial Service, the Bain family would like to extend an invitation to all friends and family to join them for a reception at the Eastern Star Temple at 800 Fanshawe Park Road East at 1:15 p.m. Private interment at a later date. The Bain family would like to acknowledge and thank the amazingly dedicated, compassionate, and caring doctors, nurses and staff of the 6th floor Palliative Ward at Victoria Hospital. Their guidance and support made an enormous difference to Duncan's quality of life, and the faith his family placed in this team's ability was enormous.
