I only just learned of Don's passing today, while at the visitation for Carol Nowack. I am so sorry. Condolences to Sheila, Greg and Corene. I loved spending time with Donny in my childhood, for weekend cribbage tournaments, for a week at "camp" at Pine Tree Harbour on the Bruce and then Dyer's Bay. His sense of humour was .... relentless... lol, but never mean-spirited. I am sorry that is all so so very long ago now. My father John Trussler is still doing well enough, but my mother Heather passed away November 2021.

Don was a great father in law. His love for his family was endless. We took many family vacations together. He helped me without hesitation watch his grandkids so I could go to school in Detroit when Greg got a new job in Toronto. Don had so many great stories and we shared a love of music. Every time I hear the Platters along with many other artists from the 50s and 60s I will think of Don. I miss you dearly my friend. Natalie

Don, or Mr Richardson at the time, was my first manager. In fact, Miracle Food Mart (or Stienburgs) was my first place of work. I was shocked to read of his passing but I certainly remembered him. He had a great rapport with everyone at the store. I certainly enjoyed working for him.

Our deepest condolences, Aunt Sheila, Corene, Bronco, Greg, Natalie and families, I have so many fond memories of Uncle Don that I will always hold dear to my heart. From walks on the beach to ladder ball tournaments, each memory brings a smile. He was an incredible man with the capacity to brighten anyone's day with his easy banter and genuine personality. My family lost another cherished member this week. I am so grateful to have had so many incredible memories with my poppa. I will never forget him taking us for rides in his Thurderbird, walking through the forest looking for trilliums, and sharing KFC Toonie Tuesday meals together. I feel so lucky to have been loved by him. Until we meet again, Poppa.

Dear Sheila, Corene, Greg, and Families, It is with sadness that we read of Don’s passing. I had the pleasure of working with Don at Miracle Food Mart at the Westown Plaza Mall as his grocery manager, when the new store opened. When Don left Miracle Food Mart to purchase his own franchise with Loeb IGA, it was with Don’s encouragement that I purchased my own Loeb IGA franchise in Cambridge. Over the years Don has been both my mentor and a friend. Don always made time to discuss both business and personal issues on our many phone calls over the years. My wife Debby and I will always cherish our times spent with Sheila and Don, on the Loeb trips and social gatherings. The world is a sadder place without a man like Don who was caring and thoughtful. Dear Sheila, Corene, Greg & Families, Colleen and I were deeply saddened when we were informed of the passing of Don, "Mr. London". We want to express our sincere sympathy to all of you. Your loving memories of Don will live on forever in your hearts. We thoroughly enjoyed every minute we were in the company of Don & Sheila both professionally and socially. I first met Don at a Miracle Food Store Managers Meeting in 1973. I was a new store manager and was very uncomfortable and nervous at my first meeting. As I entered the room Don shook my hand and said, "Congratulations young man and welcome to the Region 3 Management Group". We may look like a bunch of old farts but between all of us we have a great deal of knowledge and experience. If I can be of any assistance just call me at Oxford St. E. From that day on I spoke to Don almost daily over the next 25 years. Don was a first class gentleman and a wonderful team player who exemplified the definition of management, TEACHER, HELPER, COACH. We all clearly knew Don's favourites, his wife Sheila (Yes Dear), his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren, his cottage and cars and let us not forget his gun collection. Don you touched us all and we all grew just by being in your presence. MAY YOU REST IN PEACE OUR FRIEND LOVE TO ALL MIKE & COLLEEN GANLEY

Dear Sheila and Family: Received the news this morning of Don's passing. The last time I spoke to Don was maybe about 6-8 years ago when he was at a car show held at the McCormick Home and I was there visiting Uncle Jim. He stood and chatted to all of us. He was not only proud of his beautiful cars but he also was so proud of his family. That was also the last time I saw Aunt Dorothy. Both always greeted me with a beautiful smile. I feel that all of us missed out on so much as we were maturing through the years. Our parent's differences seemed to get in the way of getting to know all our cousins. We are so saddened by Don's passing. He was an amazing man, husband, father and grandfather. I remember he helped get my first job at Miracle Food Mart when I was going to school and I continued to work there while raising our family. Then I followed his path and started working for Loeb which lead me to my current job at the City of London. We had a lot of good times through the years. Sending love to all of you. I am very sad to have learned of the passing of Mr. Richardson - In 1988, I was hired to work at LOEB IGA Montgomery, it was my first ever job. - I learned many lessons in business and customer service through the teachings and guidance of Mr. Richardson. Things I still use to this day, He always said each customer is your family, and you need to treat them like that. At Christmas we always got a turkey, and he cared for his staff. Every time i enter our old store- the memories flash by. Thank You Mr. Richardson for giving me my first job and i want to extend my deepest condolences To Mrs. Richardson, Corene and Bronco, Greg and Rita - and all their extended families.
