I was fortunate to have met Caro while working at Thomson Produce. We only shared a few conversations, but they were gems. Having little to do one day at work, I was rummaging though a long ago forgotten drawer and found an old green wool hat that somehow fit me snugly. Not being a hat person, I was surprised at how comfy it felt. A good hat was like a good friend, one needed it during fowl weather. A few years on and the hat had fallen prey to misuse and general neglect. Caro's sister-in-law, Sis, informed me that Caro had knitted the hat years ago and would have gotten a kick out of its rebirth. I sent Caro a note explaining what her hat had meant to me. Months later she presented me with another hat- a gorgeous striped offering of blue,turquoise and off pink. I still have the hat and I still have the memory of how thoughtful Caro was. Bill Thomson, Sis' late husband and co-owner of 'The Plant,' used to say that his place launched a thousand laughs and a million memories. How true.

Simon and I want to offer up our condolences to the family. It was a shocker to see the one and then the other obituary. Although, it is my dream that is how it ends up over here. A hidden gift, really. Anyway, just offering up a hug for all. What a wonderful life you have all had...starting with this relationship. Lucky you guys.
