Please accept my condolences on the passing of Mary. I had written her a note when Al passed away, which must have left a real void in her life. I was VP Academic at Western from 1980 to 1986. Al and I worked very well together, so I have fond memories of those years.

We noticed with sadness at the passing of Mary in today's Free Press and wish to add our condolences to her family. We have been friends with Mary and Al for over 60 years and always admired Mary's artistic talents and Al's quick wit. Although our paths haven't crossed very much lately, when we did meet them, we could always rely on Al sharing a couple of hilarious jokes with us - he was a raconteur par excellence. Mary with her Scottish humour was always his perfect foil! We will miss them. Al and Riva Ellinson

There are no words for the sadness that I feel. Mary was a great mother-in-law, full of warmth and love. I have many many fond memories and she will be loved and missed forever. I pray that her children and grandchildren will find peace at this very diffucult time. Love always Mary- Ann
