To Linda's family I am sorry to hear of your loss. Linda and I shared a lot of good times on Lakevillage Road. I will always remember all of the stories she'd told me, mostly of the torture she put poor Al through..all in good fun of course. Its sad that we don't keep in touch as often as we think of friends. Hello Gray,
I miss you every day and say good night to you every night. I often wonder where you are and wish you were still with me. Sometimes as I drive around areas familiar to you and I, I look over to the passenger seat as if you are there. Almost every day I think of some expression you used and it brings a smile to me. Remember "Misery Guts". An expression you used for people who were in a bad mood or cranky. Thought of that the other day when I saw a man yelling at a lady driver. I sometimes regret the things I didn't say to you, but I will say them if we are reunited again

In times of sorrow it is often difficult to see the moments of joy. Often Mum you would remind me to look at the positives; the phrase “It will all work out in the wash” comes to mind.
Although cancer robbed your from me, it also gave me many gifts. I was able to have 44 years (well maybe more like 39, those first 5 are tough to remember) of memories to cherish. Some people aren't as fortunate. I recognize Mum that some of the hardships you encountered in your life is what shaped you and in turn us. Understanding more about you and being a parent myself now, I realize you always did the best that you could in any situation.
Though you are no longer here physically, I am appreciative of the gifts of work ethic, directness, sense of humor/wit, patience and love of family just to name of few that you passed down to me which will never die. The other piece of advice which has proven time and time again is when all else fails, make a cuppa (tea)!
It's funny all the little the things we will miss: neatly wrapped Xmas gifts ( a skill I did not inherit), the almost daily phone calls, your English accent, calling Carter Cartman, scratch tickets, a grated cheese and cucumber sandwich with a cup of tea and laughing with (ok at) Dad when he did something silly. The annual Christmas English Trifle will have a little more significance this year and you will be happy to know that I taught Allen how to properly make one....here's hoping ;)
I would like to take this opportunity on behalf on my Dad and Brother to say a big thank you to all of our extended family for your love and support during this time. To my parents friends in London and from their travels in the Military and RCMP, thank you for you love, support and sharing of memories. It has been a privilege to know my Mum touched your lives.
Will always Love You Mum,
Shane (aka Bug)

I am deeply saddened by your passing and I’m going to be processing your loss for a long time. I regret that I didn’t appreciate nearly enough everything you did and sacrificed to get Shane and I where we are but I will always be grateful to you for teaching me among other things, the proper way to make tea, the importance of integrity when dealing with others, your unflinching honesty, fighting spirit, sparkling sense of humour and to really enjoy a good piece of Stilton now and then...
There just aren’t enough words to really say how much I will miss you, but I take comfort in the words of Thich Nhat Hanh:
“It’s like a cloud in the sky. When the cloud is no longer in the sky, it doesn’t mean the cloud has died. The cloud is continued in other forms like rain or snow or ice. So you can recognize your cloud in her new forms. If you are very fond of a beautiful cloud and if your cloud is no longer there, you should not be sad. Your beloved cloud might have become the rain, calling on you, ‘darling, darling, don’t you see me in my new form?’ And then you will not be stuck with grief and despair. Your beloved one continues always. Meditation helps you recognize her continued presence in new forms. And our nature is the nature of no birth and no death…the nature of a cloud also. A cloud can never die. A cloud can become snow, or hail…or rain. But it is impossible for a cloud to pass from being into non-being. And that is true with your beloved one. She has not died. She is continued in many new forms. And you can look deeply and recognize herself in you and around you.”
I carry you in my Heart always.
Allen

Saying goodbye is never easy, but I'm so glad and grateful to have been able to know you and call you my nana. I hope you know that I love you so much and I cherish the memories we've made; scratching off lotto tickets together, learning how to make a real trifle, or the time I saw you this past Christmas. I'm so thankful we were able to share that last time together, catching up and sharing a few laughs in the middle of the snowstorm. I miss you so much already. I wish I could see you here again one more time, but I know you're in a better, painless place now, and you'll always be with us where it counts.
I love you nana.

I remember the last time I seen her. It was the week of my bestfriend' funeral. Waking up early and standing out with Her and my Gramps out on the balcony and watched the sunrise. It was a day I can never forget.
I wish that I got to see her one last time before her passing, but I will always cherish and hold the great memories dear to me. She was always a smiling happy woman whenever I did see her. She was always tough from the stories I'd hear from my dad and my auntie. She fought the good fight but not all champions can win..
I love you Nana, I always will and I'm glad you transcended into a better place surrounded by loved ones. You will be kept in my heart and mind forever.
Until we meet again, in an never ending universe.
Love always & forever
Sterling.

I am saddened to hear of Linda's passing. We only met once and it was such a thrill to meet the daughter of one of my grandmother's sisters. She and Al were so gracious to me. I treasure the memory of our visit in that she was able to tell me about the family members of my grandmother. I had hoped that we would be able to meet again but it is not to be.
Al, please accept my condolences.

To Al, Allen, Shane, Sam, Sterling and Carter.
Words cannot express how deeply sorry we are for each of you on Linda's passing.
Although we only met just one time many years ago in Hamilton, we shared
a family, in our two grandsons Samuel(in Winnipeg) and Sterling(Cold Lake).
I have been in touch with both of the boys and I know how heartbroken they are
to have to say goodbye to their Nana.
It is the most heart breaking event in our lives to lose our loved ones
and I pray that each of you will hold fast to your special memories that you have
in your hearts of your wife, mom and Nana.
You are all in my thoughts and prayers as you grieve your Linda's passing.
In love and friendship, Maurice and Elizabeth.
